Day 19 - Portsmouth to Cape Charles, Virginia

Woke up this morning (Wednesday) to overcast skies and drizzle.

Headed out around 8:30am - rain stopped shortly after we left. Went through lots of industrial water front, and also saw quite a few more Navy boats.

There's either a very long ferry crossing near here, or we've entered the land of the "Lost."

Cool ... (but we didn't get too close!)

We made good time after entering the Chesapeake Bay. Finally saw some wildlife as we got close to land - the Osprey weren't too interested in us.

Arrived at the Bay Creek Marina early afternoon - had to navigate a narrow entrance channel, but all went well. VERY NICE to have some sunshine for a while.

Check out the name of the boat docked next to us:

This is definitely one of the nicer marinas we've found ( we've seen a few examples where "Truth in Advertising" does not apply :) ). They've a restaurant and several shops on site, as well as the cleanest restrooms yet!

A few early evening shots -

(Note - that last photo is a reflection, and is NOT the result of one glass of chardonnay!)
